Who is Primrose?

Primrose is actually a pen name of two very different sisters. We're prim and proper (well Nadia is) but sometimes we can be icy and pricky (Natasha oviously) like thorns of a rose. In the end we became Primrose.

I'm a working mum from Malaysia who's unhealthy obsession with books simply astound my husband (who being more of an outdoor person; hardly ever reads). I hope to share my love of books with everyone regardless of age, race, religion, country..whatever! Book lovers unite!

I read all kinds of books since I was small but my favourite genre is fantasy, mystery and chic lit. I read Enid Blytons' books when I was young and shared a humongous collection of books with my sister. And kid me not, my Sweet Valley Twins collection is something to be proud of. (Hey..I was born in the 1980's). This is probably weird for an Asian family, but we read more English books than our own mother tongue Malay books.

Harry Potter is the coolest series ever and I have mixed feelings about Twilight and may seem a bit critical towards Bella but I sheepishly read all the books in the series and faithfully run off to the nearest cinema (yep we called movies; cinema in Malaysia) to watch any installment of the movie when it opens and then whine how slow it was eventhough that Taylor Lautner is damn cute (which annoys my husband to no end).

So instead I like to review little known books with the hopes that such books are read instead of the over hyped- beautiful- deceiving-cover- ones. :)

Is my sister and she's a secondary school English teacher (we called high school- secondary school in Malaysia). She's way awesome and love books as much as I do. Maybe even more. She will be a guest reviewer once in a while. Her taste is more eclectic and more adult (hence she's the elder sister) while I like clean books and I blamed it all on my mum's Mills and Boons collection for making me hate and dread bedroom scenes. Hoho..
