Waiting on Wednesday #35: All Our Yesterdays

Waiting on Wednesday is a wonderful meme created by Jill from Breaking the Spine where we highlighted an upcoming release that we're eagerly anticipating.

All Our Yesterdays
by Cristin Terrill
Hardcover, 368 pages
Expected publication: September 3rd 2013
by Disney Hyperion
Summary from Goodreads:
"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.

Babble:
How can you not be intrigued by that compelling blurb? I'm thinking that this will be a tragic love story where the girl had to travel back in time to kill the boy she loves. Oooh..wonder how that will turn out?

Waiting on Wednesday #34: Steelheart

Waiting on Wednesday is a wonderful meme created by Jill from Breaking the Spine where we highlighted an upcoming release that we're eagerly anticipating.

Steelheart (Reckoners #1)
by Brandon Sanderson
Expected publication: September 24th 2013
by Delacorte
Summary from Goodreads:
Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics... nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart—the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning—and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He's seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.

Babble:
It's been awhile since I last read a Brandon Sanderson's book. So I was really excited to find out that he's writing a young adult book with a modern fantasy twist. Hopefully this does not disappoint.

Friday Musings

Hi, people!
I'm really sorry for neglecting you guys and this blog which I started to share my love for books. Things have been really hectic lately. With my lovely sister getting married and me trying to juggle my career, family and reading time.

I might not be able to post regularly but I will try to post every week. Thanks for still being around!
